Foviance Appoints New CEO and Board Members from 2012

The company has appointed Ben Langdon, the former CEO of Digital Marketing Group and the European CEO of McCann-Erickson, to be its new CEO. Under the new CEO’s leadership, the firm will focus on developing client relationships, making more money, and converting new business. Langdon will be taking on some of the duties currently held by executive chairman Phillip Hunt, but will remain non-executive. This change is a welcome development for Foviance.

A new President has joined the Foviance board, replacing Philip Hunt as Executive Chairman. Langdon has been with Foviance since 2011. He previously served as the CEO of Digital Marketing Group Europe, and has recently stepped down to pursue other interests. He has also built up his own consulting company, Tradigital, and sits on the boards of several technology companies. In addition to his new role at Foviance, Langdon will remain a Director.

The Foviance Group has announced a merger with service design agency Seren Partners. The new business will be based in Shoreditch, and all Foviance staff will transfer to Seren. The new company will continue to work with clients including Microsoft, Vodafone, and Barclays. Langdon will remain CEO, and he will be joined by colleagues Terry Heath, Ellen Jones, and Richard Sedley. Currently, Ben Langdon has more than two decades of experience in marketing and service design.

Guy Stephens

Leading UK customer experience and usability specialist Foviance has appointed Guy Stephens as senior social customer care consultant. He will be based at the London headquarters. Guy will also be responsible for the firm’s digital marketing analytics capability. He has a diploma in business and economic forecasting from Kingston Business School and is a member of the board of the Web Analytics Association. He has over 15 years of experience in the customer experience industry and has worked for some of the world’s biggest brands.

In addition to his role at Foviance, Guy has also been appointed as a commercial director. He will be responsible for expanding the company’s client development team and working to maximize the benefits of its multi-channel services. Sedley has previously worked as a course director at the Chartered Institute of Marketing and will ensure Foviance’s clients take full advantage of social media. He is also an expert in customer service, and founded a LinkedIn group where social media and customer service can coexist.

Richard Sedley

Foviance, the UK-based user experience and analytics consultancy, has announced that it is merging with service design agency Seren Partners. Employees from both companies will be based in the Seren offices in Shoreditch from 17 September. The combined team will work with companies such as Vodafone, Barclays and Microsoft. It will continue to be led by Richard Sedley, who is currently commercial director. Philip Hunt will remain on the board of directors.

In addition to launching the Foviance client development team, Richard Sedley will focus on growing the company’s multi-channel services and enhancing the company’s client base. He has also been a course director for social media at the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and will be instrumental in ensuring that clients are fully prepared to take advantage of the developments in the social web. Richard has worked in customer service for more than ten years, previously at The Carphone Warehouse as a customer knowledge manager. He says social media has helped change customer service.

Applied Insight’s co-founder and director of analytical consulting

The customer experience consultancy Foviance has acquired the analytical consulting firm Applied Insights to expand its analytics offerings. The firm provides services to clients around the world on website usability and data analytics. Founded in 1998, Applied Insights has helped many of the world’s leading brands. The company offers consultancy on the effectiveness of various digital channels, including websites and social media. Neil Mason will lead the company’s analytical consulting practice.

Before founding Applied Insights, John Walsh worked for IBM in various management and professional services roles. Since 2000, he has focused on advanced analytical methodologies. In 2004, he co-founded Applied Insights, a company specialising in advanced digital analytics. Foviance acquired Applied Insights in 2008 and subsequently launched Analytical People.

Hagstrom is responsible for the growth and profitability of a global team of more than 4,000 employees across 50 countries. He has 20 years’ experience leading high-performance organizations. Among his clients are Mothercare, Littlewoods, Renault, Symtec, Electronic Arts, and others. A global perspective, he is highly respected in the analytic community.
